UNC got its second five star commitment for the class of 2013 on Monday night when Gonzaga College High(Washington, DC) point guard Nate Britt announced his intentions to be a Tar Heel. According to Britt he grew up loving the Heels and now gets to fulfill the dream of playing in Chapel Hill.
Britt is the #3 PG in the class according to Scout.com and ranked 18th overall. He joins #9 ranked Isaiah Hicks in what is shaping up to be a elite class to compliment the 2012 class. Britt is a left handed PG making him the third straight lefty floor general to commit to UNC. According to the Scout.com profile Britt’s strengths are his basketball IQ, changing speed and three point shooting. It is that last one that makes him a good addition. Britt’s weaknesses are his athleticism and strength the latter which will be developed one he gets to UNC.
With the addition of Britt in 2013 and Marcus Paige in 2012, the Heels will have two solid point guards when Britt shows up on campus. If Kendall Marshall were stay four years(not likely) the 2013-2014 team would have three top 30 PGs on the roster.
thank god for shooting PGs
Can he just have eligibility now?
THF,
I see your point.
In Roy we trust!! One of the best recruiters of all time.
Coach a little against Wisconsin please.
Possible 2013 Lineup:
PG) Marcus Paige/Nate Britt
SG) P.J. Hairston/Leslie McDonald* or Anton Gill*
SF) Reggie Bullock/J.P. Tokoto
PF) Isaiah Hicks/Brice Johnson/Desmond Hubert
C) Joel James/Kennedy Meeks*
^^lol, in the N&O this am they referred to K’s employment of the 2-3 zone last night…pretty lame by the N&O. It was in fact the 3-2. Two things: OSU attacked it perfectly, indicating smarts & savvy on their part & Duke didn’t run it correctly, nor stick with it long enough to give it a chance. At LEAST K is smart enough to try to switch tracks when he sees that train bearing down on him.
I love watching austin rivers dribble for 15 seconds than force up a shot. its like the lebron cavs this yr in durham.
K gets no props for not letting his walk ons play in a 20 point blow out, i guess you gotta make sure rivers gets his numbers right K… same ol K, with the late game dirty fouls too…
K also gave up on the game with about 10 minutes left, so, I don’t think there’s anything to really try to emulate there
“K also gave up on the game with about 10 minutes left”
I think his back was hurting…
I can already see the sky falling…runs, hides.
Never have I felt so good about about avoiding IC. If the temperature is this bad here I can imagine that we are already eating our young on that site.
Thanks for your time and interest.
“It kind of opened our eyes to reality,” Plumlee said post-game. “We thought we were one team and then….”
Fun fact: Pete Gaudet is the video coordinator for the OSU women’s team. Surprised he didn’t make a cameo on the Duke bench at the end of the game to take the loss for K.
^are you serious? he goes from assistant at dook to interim to video coordinator for a women’s team? wow.
^Coach K: Leader of Men… Killer of Careers.
Dex will not be able to stay in front of austin rivers
^ I watched Dexter shut him down at the Pro-Am. Best game of the entire series. Still Rivers a serious player but he’s also the ultimate Duke player. He’s JJ with a handle same whining to the refs, big attitude…painful. JJ was less over the top on the attitude to be fair.
^JJ as in Redick? I’m sorry but saying that AR Is “JJ with a handle” is not close to accurate.
There is a ton wrong with Rivers game, attitude, style of play, etc. but he will still be a star. His creativity will continue to improve as he gets out of high school, all star game mode. Redick was one-dimensional until his senior year in college.
I do 100% agree that Dex will stay in front of them and given that has turned into their offense, we should blow the doors off this PG/C-less team.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Didn’t know the Association took PGs who can’t guard……….
I am not saying he is leaving after this year but after his junior year it is possible and by then he hopefully will have improved his on the ball defense.
^I’m hoping he has improved by tonight from what we saw Saturday night
Marshall seems to get beat with the first step. I wonder if this is a result of his always trying to watch what is going on all over the court and not focusing on the brand of his opponent’s shorts.
