At the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame on Wednesday night via WTVD’s Joe Mazur.
Dean Smith was on hand to receive the Naismith Sportsmanship Award. Roy Williams accepted the award on Dean’s behalf in what was described as a very emotional speech for the Tar Heel head coach. Roy at one point, choking back tears, said he “HAS to remember everything he(Dean) gave me and taught me.” Mike Krzyzewski also had kind words for Dean as well.
